Graduate
Resources
Post Secondary Education Component:
The post secondary education component of the program seeks to increase
academic rigor for students enrolled in the MAYP and create direct connections
to college and work through the provision of the Pathways to Success Program
(PTS). These resources are needed to assist students in developing and
reaching their post secondary education and career goals for life beyond
the YouthBuild program. Students will participate in workforce training,
summer internships, and mentoring prior to enrollment in a secondary education
program. Atlanta Technical College (ATC) and Kennesaw State University
(KSU) will provide academic courses designed to help prepare students
for college level writing, reading and mathematics. They will provide
developmental instruction and college-career readiness training. Additionally,
Georgia State University will provide academic and career assessments
and help students select and enroll in colleges, universities, and state
technical colleges. They will also assist students with securing financial
assistance, teach basic computer based training courses and provide individual
and group counseling sessions pertaining to college readiness.
