About Project MINT(Back) The Marietta Initiative for Neighborhood Transformation (Project MINT) involves the usage of HOME Program grant funds and private/public sector financing to acquire and rehabilitate selected homes within defined geographical areas inside the city limits of Marietta. CHI will work in conjunction with the Marietta Board of Commissioners to identify specific properties which are affordable, vacant, in substandard conditions, and/or either owned by absentee landlords will be identified and placed on a list of possible acquisitions. As the Community Housing Development Organization for Cobb County (CHDO), Cobb Housing, Inc. (CHI) will acquire, rehabilitate and or demolish & reconstruct MINT properties. CHI will also provide a minimum of eight (8) hours of HUD approved housing counseling, and administer down payment assistance for Project MINT purchasers. Funding is provided by Cobb County through Federal Funds provided by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Georgia Urban County Consortium.
